Live Your Life

a place for the weird and MizUndErsTo0Dz. (lol).

double edge social media sword

do you ever have days you’re scrolling and you just feel G R O S S? or detox days for apps? i feel like this new age world of technology we live in, we need boundaries even from social media. it’s become a toxic partner, or that friend that leaves you feeling a little gross with all the gossip.

social media is also a wonderful place where you can find community and even live videos with real people speaking to an audience. it’s become our dream as teenage millennials but fear as adults with children now. we need family boundaries or even topics to speak at the table with our kids. you don’t want to lose what they’re interested in even if it’s some annoying youtuber crying because they’re cancelled. (i will say i’m a fan of a lot of youtubers so i’m guilty of this too.

facebook was the first ship i jumped off about 5 years ago. as much as i loved seeing all my friends and their lives, i couldn’t help but to have to deal with my parents side of the family. my mom did a pretty good job of not really letting us interact as much with her side. not to be mean but there’s just so many of them and she spoke better than we did. we’d always say something offensive or sound bratty i guess so she just spoke. i was sort of forced off due to someone in ecuador stealing my identity, deleting all my friends, and keeping only people from ecuador. it became so toxic that i got robbed virtually! haha.

all in all, i have my other social media apps but i’ve created boundaries around them and muted things i don’t want to see. there are people who can just scroll which i would love to be that free (you’re lucky if that’s you bitch) but that’s not the way my neurotic ass is wired.

anyway – i got stuff to do today SO moral of the story, create healthy social media boundaries for you and that phone. hope you have a nice day.

thanks for listening to my ted talk.
